Process to Purchase a Royal K9 Kennel Puppy

In our busy schedule, we do our best to keep our site up to date with current and planned litters.  Our puppies are born in our home, in a busy and active room, to help acclimate them to everyday sites, sounds and smells.  Whelping boxes are kept very clean and puppies are handled daily!

Once the puppies are whelped, the for sale page is updated with DOB, availability, and usually a group photo. We will update photos at 3wks of age and again at 6wks of age. We do our best to update more often, but this is not guaranteed due to busy schedules and taking care of our fur babies! Visistors are very welcome, but puppies may only be viewed after 6 weeks as this is when they receive their first puppy vaccination. We ask that you please respect this time frame as we do our best to safe guard our puppies from outside disease and parasites!

At around 4 weeks of age when the puppies start to crawl out of the whelping box, they are moved to the indoor/outdoor puppy runs. They are are still nursed by their mother, but begin the weaning stage and do not spend much time with her. We introduce them to multiple surfaces, such as pavement, grass, tarps, wood as well as slick surfaces like linoleum. They leave our kennel bold and confident and we attribute it to the upbringing we provide them!

HEALTH GUARANTEE

We devote our everything to our dogs, and our puppies are given the utmost of care. We worm our puppies at 2-4-6 of age. Puppies also receive their first distemper/parvo vaccine, as well as a Vet inspection.  Each puppy leaves our kennel no sooner than 8 weeks old, and comes with a 2 year health guarantee. The pups are guaranteed healthy when they leave Royal K9 Kennel with a 72 hr return policy for any reason. We provide a 2 year health guarantee against any congenital or hereditary DISABLING disease.

NUTRITION & RECOMMENDATIONS

Good nutrition is critical for a puppy to grow and develope properly. Not only does proper nutrition aid in proper growth and bone maturation, it also enables a puppy to have a healthy immune system. While kibble does not provide all the needed nutrients for a growing puppy, we require that supplements be given.

We feed Taste of the Wild Salmon flavor, and NuVet Plus. We supplement with meats as well as farm eggs raised here!  Pups are started on softened puppy food, soaked in puppy milk replacer for the first week or so. Once food is introduced and puppies are eating well, they are weaned from the milk replacer and introduced to Taste of the Wild Puppy Salmon, and Nuvet plus for immune support.  This food is found in any major retailer of dog foods, and Nuvet can only be purchased online www.nuvet.com/57225.  Nuvet is also a requirement of our puppy contract.

IF YOU ARE PURCHASING A PUPPY, PLEASE HAVE YOUR NUVET SUPPLEMENTS READY FOR WHEN THE PUPPY ARRIVES.

APPLICATION

Our application is the first step taken when purchasing a puppy.  Please fill out the application in detail with the traits desired in your puppy and provide as much information as possible about your experience with dogs in general and specifically a GSD.  This information helps us to recommend puppies that will fit into your situation and lifestyle based on personality, temperment, and drives. Please include your plans or expectations for your puppy, how much time you have to spend with your dog, crate training, obedience training- and if you plan on training your dog yourself, or hiring an outside trainer etc....

Please also include the particular breeding you are interested in and any questions you may have. We will email you once we have received and read your application.

Once the application is received and approved, the next step is securing your puppy with a deposit.

DEPOSITS

To secure a puppy from a specific litter a deposit is required.  We will not hold a puppy without a deposit. We accept deposits on all current and planned litters. The planned litters are listed at the bottom of the for sale page. When placing a deposit on a planned litter, please keep in mind that the stud dog we intend to use can change before the breeding can be completed. This is usually unforeseen but common so we feel it is important that we mention this.  The deposit amount is $500.00   We accept all forms of payment for the deposit.

Deposits are only refundable if we do not produce the desired sex from the desired litter. Once the litter is born, and we have produced the desired sex, the deposit is no longer refundable, but you may roll the deposit over to another litter.

When moving your deposit to another litter, your deposit will be placed BEHIND anyone already in place. We cannot move you ahead of someone else even if your deposit was received before theirs. If you intend to jump to another litter, it is best to do so as early as possible so we are able to list your spot as open so the puppy is homed at an appropriate age. VERY IMPORTANT

CHOOSING YOUR PUPPY

Puppy choice is based on the order the deposits were received. First deposit gets first choice. This is the only fair way to conduct puppy picking order. A speedy deposit is crucial in obtaining the puppy of your choice.

We understand the choice process is sometimes tough. We are available to make recommendations and help with such a critical decision. We provide photos as often as possible, and observe personality traits to help the buyers who cannot visit to make their choice. Again, we must mention that puppies are only allowed to be viewed after their first vaccination at 6wks of age. Puppy temperment testing is more likely accurate around this age as well! If we feel a puppy's temperment does NOT fit your lifestyle, we will recommend you roll your puppy deposit over to another litter to avoid an un-natural fit and risk our puppies being placed in shelters or worse.
We request you have 3 puppy preferences choosen before the process begins to help make a decision more quickly as there are others also waiting to choose their puppy.

BUYERS ARE VERY WELCOME TO VISIT THE KENNEL TO PICK OUT THEIR PUPPY AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME WHEN WE BEGIN THE CHOICE PROCESS. THIS IS USUALLY AT 6 WEEKS UNLESS A BUYER MAKES HIS/HER DECISION EARLIER. AT THAT TIME, THE PUPPIES ARE NOT READY TO GO YET, SO THERE WILL BE ANOTHER TRIP NEEDED TO PICK UP YOUR PUPPY OR ANOTHER OPTION IS TO SHIP (FLY) THE PUPPY, WHEN THE PUPPY IS 8 WKS OLD AND HAS BEEN CLEARED BY OUR VET.

Pups are available for shipping/pickup at 8wks of age. Many people are unable to pick up due to time or distance. We ship pups throughout the US via Air Cargo. United is our preferred Airline as they are the cheapest AND ship puppies only in air conditioned or heated cargo!!!

Many buyers ask to receive their puppy early due to a conflict within their schedule. The pups schedule for shots, wormings, and availability is already preset from the day they were born. Due to health risks outside the kennel, pups are not available for shipment or pickup before 8 weeks of age *****PLUS ITS THE LAW- PLEASE DO NOT ASK****

Every litter has the take home date listed under the birth announcement. This date is the date we begin shipping or make the puppies available for pick up. Please Note:
VACATIONS DO NOT TAKE PRIORITY OVER RECEIVING YOUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER.
WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED A BOARDING FEE OF $10/DAY FOR ANYONE NOT READY TO ACCEPT THEIR PUP WHEN IT IS 8 WEEKS OLD!
Please be prepared to receive your new bundle when they are ready. If the vacation cannot be changed, then please move to another litter.

We wait until right before shipping to make the arrangements. Depending on the season, shipping can be difficult due to temperatures. When we get the chance to ship in incrimate weather, we must ship or risk loosing our opportunity. We try to work with you and your schedule but BUYERS MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND AVAILABLE TO PICK UP THEIR PUP. On occasion pups must be picked up late in the evening or shipped to a different destination airport. Smaller destination airports are discouraged as its just another layover for the pup. Also not all planes are equipped to carry live animals. The larger airports are much more accomodating and safe to fly our puppies!

PAYMENT

Final Payment plus shipping is due once you have chosen your puppy.
PUPPY WILL NOT SHIP IF PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED.
